About
The Christmas House is a shopping experience for families in need. By special invitation families will be invited to fill their Christmas list for those they love at the Christmas House. On the day of the event, from beginning to end, is full of happiness, love, giving, prayers, and sharing of personal stories. The parents are able to come and experience a fun shopping adventure where all the senses will be touched. Each family that walks in the Christmas House will have a personal shopper who will walk them through their shopping adventure. This adds a personal touch where the families are able to build a relationship with their personal shoppers. The Christmas House will also include a program for the children, while the parents shop. The children will have crafts, snacks, play games, and hear the Christmas Story. This outreach opportunity is truly a way to spread the joy to your community and make a difference! Your community can experience what Christmas is all about by easing the load and brightening the lives of those bearing great burdens. There are many ways to be involved with Christmas House to help provide gifts for needy children. You can donate money or new gifts, volunteer your time, provide lunch and beverages for volunteers, host a donation box at your place of business during Nov/Dec, or hold a fundraiser or gift drive to benefit Christmas House.In November and December, donation drop-off sites are established at locations across Lake Nona. If you have a Lake Nona business and would like to be a collection site, we will provide you with a box and signage during November and December and we will make arrangements to pick up gifts when your box is full. VOLUNTEERS
Volunteering at Christmas House is fun and rewarding. In order to serve the families, we’ will need help from 50 volunteers. Come join us!Here are answers to some questions you may have:Where do I volunteer?Christmas House is located at Element Church/ YMCA. 9055 Northlake Parkway Orlando, FL 32827What do volunteers do?The Friday before the event we need volunteers to help set up the tables, decorate the store, seperate the toys.When the store is open on Saturday December 10, the personal shopper volunteers act as hosts, escorting guests through the Christmas House store and assisting them with selecting gifts for their children. Others help with the welcome table and entering data into the computer, assisting guests with merchandise as they leave, help wrapping gifts, serve brunch, or volunteer in the children's area. How am I trained to work at the “store”?Volunteer training sessions are held a few weeks before the event. It’s very important you attend the training, even if you'’ve volunteered at the store other years. All volunteers must have been through an official training session.When is Christmas House open?The store is open at 8:30am to the first family who recieved a special invitation on December 10, 2011! The families have a specific time to shop. Families will arrive every 30 minutes until the last family has finished with their shopping experience!How do I sign up?You can sign up by clicking HERE!
